I would appreciate if someone could help me understand how to solve the problem that
I mentioned in the email that I sent yesterday.
Thank you.

Subject: System starts with 2 X servers after installing GIMP 2.0
Date: Tue, 30 Mar 2004 16:51:06 -0500
Hi,
Yesterday I installed GIMP 2.0 (including gtk+-2.0, pango..). Now when I restart the system
I get two X servers running, which stops the GUI from starting. I have checked and one
server uses display :0, while the other uses :1. The only solutions that I have to get the GUI
going is to press CRTL+ALT+F2, login as root and kill the 2 X servers. After that I can
use "startx" to restart X. The "xfs" server runs fine. The /etc/X11/XF86Config file only
has one display configured. Does anyone have any idea of what might have happened?
Where is that 2nd X server being started?
OS: RedHat 9.0 - 2.4.20-24.9
Moved from GIMP 1.2 to 2.0
The GIMP packages where compiled on the system (no RPM)
