Dear Xfree86,

My hardware: Dell Ispiron 1100 laptop, 256 Mb memory, A28 BIOS,
Intel 845G videocard, RedHat 9

1. Well, I istalled X 4.4 over 4.3 to handle Intel video 845G problem with
resolution depth higher than 8, and wasn't able to get X flying -- please
see
attached files

2. I gave up X 4.4, re-installed RedHat 9 and I installed patch from

http://www.chzsoft.com.ar/855patch.html

over X 4.3, which took it to the air. I am able to see 1024x768x16 now!

3. I still have strange effect: I quit X into command line mode and see the
mouse-rectangle-cursor
having purple symbols inside it; these symbols are changed when I move the
mouse.

Any ideas?

RESUME: X 4.4 didn't provide solution for 845G, patched X 4.3 did.
