You can install a custom modeline. The following is one I created with the help of the "gtf" application that shipped with XFree86 4.3. # 1280x854 @ 60.00 Hz (GTF) hsync: 53.04 kHz; pclk: 89.96 MHz Modeline "1280x854" 89.96 1280 1352 1488 1696 854 855 858 884 Drop that into the Section "Monitor" of the XF86Config file. Then add the modeline name "1280x854" to the Modes line in the Subsection "Display" of the Section "Screen" that is being used. Assuming that the HorizSync and VertRefresh sections in the Section "Monitor" allow for a 53.04 kHz, 60 Hz mode, it should work. Mark.
