I want to preface this with the announcement that I am a Linux Newbie.... I have installed Debian 3.0r2 that's comes with XFree86 Version 4.1.0.1. When I run startx my GUI (KDE) loads but I have no mouse or keyboard control: the mouse does absolutely nothing and the system responds to keyboard inputs erratically. The screen is also off center and also very bizarre. In addition, to rule out the GUI I only run "xinit /usr/X11R6/bin/xedit" still the same strange behavior. Probably something in clear view but it is still foggy for me (I am riding the curve as fast as I can).... I have a Matrox Millennium II with 8MB (old HP Vectra VL 7 PII box) and a PanaSync E50 monitor. Attached you will find my log file. Thanks. Humble Student, Tommy
