The Mandrake Linux (Version 9.0) Loaded just fine, I logged in as a root, and I typed startx to get into the graphical mode, and I got the following error.

XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0"
after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
[root@localhost root]# startx

XFree86 Version 4.2.1 / X Windows System
(protocol Version 11, provision 0, vendor release 6600)
Release Date: 3 September 2002
If the server is older then 6-12 months, or if your card is newer
than the above date, look for a newer version before reporting
    problems.  (See http://www.XFree86.Org/)
Build Operating System:  Linux 2.4.18-23mdkenterprise i686 (ELF)
Module Loader present
Markers: (--) probed, (**) from config file, (==) default setting,
(++) from command line, (!!) notice, (II) informational,
(WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown.

Using vt 7
(EE) Not devices detected.

Fatal server error:

The operating system I'm running is Mandrake Linux 9.0 Power Pack Edition.

The video hardware that I'm using is a Sony CPD-G220R Monitor, and the video card
would be ATI Radeon 9000 PRO.

The problem is that, when in the text mode, I type startx, and it is not doing what it is
supposed to be doing.  The installation was successful.  What could be wrong.
