I am running XFree86 4.3.0 with gentoo kernel 2.6.1. My GPU is a dual-head Mobility Radeon 7500. This hardware appears to be correctly recognised and the driver loaded. The problem that I have is that occasionally (but fairly frequently) when starting or closing X my screen becomes filled with lines and other rubbish. I cannot predictably replicate this and I have no idea why sometimes it works and other times it does not. I can recover from the problem by doing a blind Ctrl-Alt-Backspace followed by startx, sometimes several times.
