I got X to run as root and it automatically wrote a .Xauthority file in /root. But when I try it as a regular user it refuses to start because it can't get the user's authority. I'm sort of new to X and don't really understand the discussion about ways to grant authority using xauth. What is the simplest way to give a regular user access to X?
