Sounds like you had the same problem I had. I got this info from an XFREE86 employee. My distro is Mandrake 9.2, and I have not yet gotten Red Hat 9.0 working. You will have to boot into a failsafe mode session from boot. In directory /etc/X11 edit your XF86Config file(s). In the Device Section enter the following line Option "FlatPanel" "0" If this works, you may get a partial screen. Mine had a black border of about 1 inch all around the screen.
