I just installed Debian 3.0 r2 (woody) on a P4. The motherboard is intel 845. From the internet I came to know that the default xfree86 server (4.2) that comes with debian 3 doesn't work with intel 845. So I downloaded and installed the latest (4.3.0) . After that too my x server doesn't start up. It prints an error : (EE) VGA(0): No display subsection in Screen section "Screen 1" for depth/fbbpp1/1 (EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration. Fatal server error: no screems found I have been using Red Hat for the last few years. Now I would like to move to Debian. But if X doesn't work, I won't be doing it!
