problems with XFree86 version 4

Hello,

I'm using reebsd version 4.9 and I followed the
handbook and installed xfree86 version 4. However,
when I try this:

# XFree86 -xf86config XF86Config.new

I get the following error (taken form XFree86.8.log
file see below)

could not open default font 'fixed'

WHAT IS THE BIG PROBLEM? I used to have version 4
installed successfully on this system and everything
worked fine. Now that I upgrades to a newer os version
and wanted to install it again it won't work.
