Problem with Starting X on Radeon 900pro

Hello,

I am pretty new to Unix/Linux based OS and my technical knowledge is
small on this area.

I have a problem while starting my GUI (KDE 3.1.2) on FreeBSD i386 5.1-RELEASE
with XFree86 4.3.0
I have installed my new graphic card (ATI Radeon 9600pro with 256 MB VRAM and 19" Monitor) few days ago and i wanted to install FreeBSD.

I have installed all packages that are needed (xf86 & kde) and i configured the
XF86 in textmode. After rebooting my system and logging in as root, i type startx and
an error message occurs "error - no screen found"

i have checked all of my settings which are very similar to my previous video adaptor
(Ati radeon 9000pro with 128 MB vram) and it should work, but if i put my settings down,
to like a lower max resolution of the monitor, i am getting another error "error - no device found"

do i have to download a video card driver, or is there another solution for this problem?
i have tested it on Fedora Core 1 and it works fine, but not with FreeBSD :(

yours sincerely
Denis Kozjak
