Startx

I have Linux 9.0 Pro and I installed everything. My goal is to run AfterStep. The instructions for AfterStep is to use the command StartX. As soon as I boot and log in X is already running so I get an error message.

Are there step by step instructions for starting X ?

Thanks,

Andrew
