This is the second time in a month or so, and I can't remember the last time X crashed on me before that. Sylpheed Claws (0.9.5) looks like a suspect and the other system logs showed some gconfd shutdown messages. This is on a Mandrake 9.1 system which is fairly up to date on patches (say Nov. 14th or so for it's last update).
