It also appears that the drivers aren't exactly the same, as I see slight differences in the startup sequence. The version stamps don't indicate the difference though. The last two lines in the snippet below are only in the slow setup... Maybe that's a factor of the depth, but I don't know. (II) RADEON(0): initializing int10 (II) RADEON(0): Primary V_BIOS segment is: 0xc000 (--) RADEON(0): Chipset: "ATI Radeon 9000 If (AGP)" (ChipID = 0x4966) (--) RADEON(0): Linear framebuffer at 0xd8000000 (--) RADEON(0): MMIO registers at 0xe1000000 (--) RADEON(0): VideoRAM: 65536 kByte (64-bit DDR SDRAM) (II) RADEON(0): CloneDisplay option not set -- defaulting to auto-detect (II) RADEON(0): Primary Display == Type 1 Also, the slow version is running dri/drm. That may be interacting with DGA. Do you want to be able to run 3D accel using dri/drm? -- Kevin _______________________________________________ XFree86 mailing list XFree86@xxxxxxxxxxx http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
