Hi, I've post question about delay in startup using X4.3 and RedHat9. Now I'm 100% sure what cause it. It's mouse driver (thanks Mike Harris for tips). The deal is if I replace mouse_drv.o by one from X4.2 the problem is gone. Once again description of the problem: at startup the keyboard lights (caps lock, etc.) are blinking and startup is delayed by ~30 seconds. The affected file /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/input/mouse_drv.o was replaced by identical one from X4.2 and problem went away. Distribution RedHat 9, kernel 2.4.22 (custom made), I use laptop (compaq evo n600c, no external mouse, only pad). Hope this problem will be fixed in forthcoming X release. Two drivers are attached /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/input/mouse_drv.o taken from X4.2 (debian distribution) /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/input/mouse_drv.o.orig is original RedHat 9, X4.3 Thanks, Valentine. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
