Hi Mark I installed the 4496 version but this new driver fails to load. I checked the /lib/modules/<kernel_version>/kernel/drivers/video directory and the new driver is there. I installed the NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg2.run --kernel-name='2.4-21-0.13mdk' with no error. found no problem in /etc/modules.conf as well from dmesg , the following error occurs init_module: register failed How can I get the "nv" driver ? We can help you get the "nv" driver that comes with XFree86 working though. If you wanted to use NVIDIA's binary drivers you should try their newest version (4496). Mark.
