I used the modeline generator at http://xtiming.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/xtiming.pl for the first time the other day and it seemd to work pretty good.

Subject: [XFree86] computing modelines

I own a g400MAX driving a SGI 1600sw/MLA.

I have attempted to compute modelines using xf86cfg and xmode. Numbers vary in either case.

I currently have 1024x768 and 800x600 running, but would like to have full capability and framebuffer up and running.

I would appreciate any suggestions as to how I can confirm correct numbers for this combination. (I own a dvi adaptor for the g400, but have heard many negative comments so it is not installed. Along with that due to the SGI connector it seemed a waste of time to use this even with the MLA.)

TIA
