I've got an Sony Vaio PCG-GRT785B and I can't manage to install REDHAT Linux 9 on it. referred to: http://xfree86.org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
With a RedHat 9 distrib the installation can be done in text mode, but the LCD screen is not recognized (so the X server doesn't start)
What can I do to make linux work properly ?

In text mode :Everything works but aftr running :
redhat-config-xfree86
leaving X put the screen in a weird state and only another X start clears things up.
tried various things like
1. updating/editing /etc/x11/XF86config file thru comments in linuxforum.com
Also installed redhat linux 9 thru text mode, at the x-server config it gives a unprobe monitor.
