Hy Chuck! If you´re using XFree86 4.2.X you must run xf86cfg instead of xf86config cause the program you are using is generating the file XF86Config in /etc/X11 which is never used by the new XFree86 Version 4.2.X. But the program xf86cfg generates the File XFree86Config-4 in your /etc/X11 which is used by the new Version of XFree86. Maybe this also helps Ciao Renè ----- Original Message ----- From: Chuck Gelm <nc8q@gelm.net> To: Newbie XFree86 <newbie@XFree86.Org> Sent: Saturday, October 19, 2002 3:55 PM Subject: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/doc/Monitors > Howdy, Y'all: > > While running 'xf86config' I am asked about my monitor > and it is suggested that I check the file > /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/doc/Monitors > for information. > > I believe that I have installed 4.2.1 over 4.2.0, > yet I do not have this file. > > What is wrong? > > Regards, Chuck > _______________________________________________ > > Newbie@XFree86.Org > *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: > http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie > > _______________________________________________ Newbie@XFree86.Org *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie
