I am running Linux Debian 3.0 (Woody).I would like to download and install xfree86 4.2.0 binaries. I download xinstall.sh.As root,I issued the command sh xinstall.sh -check and the system's response was: Checking which OS you're running ... uname report's "Linux' version '2.2-20',architecture 'i686'. xinstall.sh : file : command not found Object format is 'a.out', xinstall.sh; strings: command not found Linux 'a.out' is no longer supported. I then downloaded xinstall.bin renamed it xinstall.sh and I received the same response.
