Get rid of older XFree-Version

Hi List,

I hope, you can give some advise concerning the following
case: In February, I installed XFree Version 4.1.0.1, which
came with my debian distribution 3.0 (pre) on a computer
using an ELSA Winner 2000 Graphic Card. I had some problems
with the driver, so I tried to install the newer Version
4.2.0 over it, which unfortunately didn't work instantly.

At that time I had not enough time to work on it, so I used
another computer instead since today.

Now I would like to continue my work on that case.
Because I don't remember the last installation I made
and also, because I suppose the last problems result of
a bad mix of both versions, I suppose it would be better
to start a fresh installation with the last
downloaded version 4.2.0.

How can I get rid of both previous XFree-Installations?

Gabriele
