I try to achieve a subset of what you want: simply getting the TVout
working with X :o). Using atitvout
(http://www.stud.uni-hamburg.de/users/lennart/projects/atitvout/) I was
able to see the Linux console on my TV, but with X I only get gibberish.
It seems to me that the ATI card (or driver) can't (or doesn't want) to
use the 13.odd MHz dotclock that's required for PAL TVs.

Maybe it's possible to let the card display each pixel twice (I'm not
looking for Doublescan == each line twice) thus effectively halving the
dotclock and then use 27.something for the dotclock value...

Can anybody out there give me some hints?
