Sounds like direct rendering (DRI) support needs to be enabled. I'm not certain of support for that chipset. Check the dri site. It is slow because it is using software-based rather than hardware based rendering. if you type glxinfo you notice that dri enabled says no and that it is using indirect rendering through MesaGL. Check it out. - Hope it helps dri.sourceforge.net Steve W. -----Original Message----- From: newbie-admin@XFree86.Org [mailto:newbie-admin@XFree86.Org]On Behalf Of andreafornacciari@libero.it Sent: Tuesday, October 08, 2002 9:31 AM To: newbie Subject: How to configure XFree86 for Intel i740 video card? I've configured my graphic card PowerColor C740sd (chipset i740) on Red Hat 7.3 using xf86config, but the graphic accelerator doesn't work well. I'tried to start tuxracer to verify the performances but it's very very slow. What can I do to configure correctly the graphic card ? _______________________________________________ Newbie@XFree86.Org *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie _______________________________________________ Newbie@XFree86.Org *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie _______________________________________________ Newbie@XFree86.Org *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie
