Sounds like direct rendering (DRI) support needs to be enabled.  I'm not
certain of support for that chipset.  Check the dri site.  It is slow
because it is using software-based rather than hardware based rendering.  if
you type glxinfo you notice that dri enabled says no and that it is using
indirect rendering through MesaGL.

I've configured my graphic card PowerColor C740sd (chipset i740)
on Red Hat 7.3 using xf86config, but the graphic accelerator doesn't
work well. I'tried to start tuxracer to
verify the performances but it's very very slow. What can I do to
