Hi, I just installed Xfree86 on my new Mac OS 10.2 system using the pre-compiled binaries for Darwin-ppc-5.x availabe on the xfree86.org ftp site. I logged in as 'root' and ran the installation script as follows: %sh Xinstall.sh added /usr/X11R6/bin to my path in my .cshrc file, opened a new terminal window, set the DISPLAY variable based on ifconfig (DHCP connection), and ran Xwindows as follows: %startx -- -quartz The XDarwin window popped up and I clicked on the Rootless mode option. This popped up an xclock window, which momentarily closed and I got the following error message: % startx -- -quartz 2002-09-10 16:33:23.498 XDarwin[1024] XDarwin 1.1 Running in parallel with Mac OS X Quartz window server. I am not sure how to fix this and get Xwindows running, and would really appreciate any ideas/help in this regard.
