Doing a google search "site:xfree86 displayheight480", I found out that
this was added (experimentally) to support the Libretto's screen. I
will give it a try on my Sony and see what it does.

Searching through the online man pages, I also found a reference to an
option in the Monitors section. The option is 'DisplaySize width
height' with width and height in millimeters. If Plan A doesn't work,
I think I will try this. I wonder how exact I need to be?

There may also be a possibility of using a "Modeline" option. Perhaps
with this option I could feed XFree86 one of the 3.x XF86Config
modelines I found on the web.
