nVidia Driver and DPMS woes

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

I am running XFree 4.2.0 on Linux with an nVidia GeForce256 card.

When using the standard "nv" supplied driver with Xfree, all works as
expected. I have my xinitrc file set my dpms options for me to turn off
the monitor after 5 minutes and I can issue an `xset dpms force off`
command at any time and it will immediately shut off.

Now, I can load the nVidia driver into the config file:

Changes:

> Load	"glx"

< Load	"GLcore"
< Load	"dri"

> Driver	"nvidia"
< Driver	"nv"

X starts up and everything works fine, until I go to turn the screen
off. When the nvidia driver turns it off, it evidently sends a bad sync
or refresh rate to the monitor because it cannot interpret the output.

Are there any commands I can run to see what frequencies that the driver
is outputting to the monitor at that point?

Thanks

-G
