Try this

This works on Redhat 7.3

edit inittab to Default into runtime 3(Makes it easier to debug and test
while fine tuning)

boot into runtime 3
login as root
rename /etc/X11/XF86Config-4(keep copy)
run XFree86 -configure
copy new XF86Config to /etc/X11/XF86Config-4
edit /usr/X11R6/bin/startx (the file)
 added line
 serverargs="+xinerama"
Run /usr/X11R6/bin/startx
If mouse does not work get config from old XF86Config-4.

I'm not sure how the laptop will work, Are you using 2 video cards or a dual
video card?

Good luck

Subject: laptop with two screens

Hi folks!

I've got a new HP XE3 laptop. I got X working with the LCD and my Nokia
446XS
seperately all right. Now what I'd love to do is using both screens with

xinerama. The i830 is on PCI:00:02:0 and PCI:00:02:1. So I tried
configuring
two screens with two devices but both displays kept displaying the same
thing
(same resultion, same frequency). Does anyone know how to set up X so
that I
can use both displays in xinerama-mode?

Thank you for your answers,
Philipp
