Ok. I've just recompiled Xfree version 4.1, using exactly the same host.def file. Now Xfbdev always starts with the same colors, but they are a bit "psyco" (pink foreground with green and blue foreground combination!!!!). So it seems there's something wrong the palette or color definition..... Also this server started a lot more faster than the 4.2 version (3 seconds up to the login prompt vs. 40 seconds in version 4.2!!!!)... (why?)... Please please... help me!! >From: "Carlos Dri" <cacho_a_d@hotmail.com> >Reply-To: newbie@XFree86.Org >To: newbie@XFree86.Org >Subject: Xfbdev starts with random colors >Date: Thu, 25 Jul 2002 16:31:35 +0000 > >I've send this just some minutes ago, but got some errors while sending it, >so here it goes again....... sorry if it's duplicated. > >Hi to all, > >I've compiled the Kdrive package (4.2 disto) with framebuffer option, >here's >my host.def file: > >#define BuildServersOnly YES >#define KDriveXServer YES >#define TinyXServer YES >#define XfbdevServer YES > >I'm running Linux, original RedHat6.0 but have done a lot of upgrades. >Kernel is 2.4.18 with framebuffer working (tested, I've run a XF68_FBDEV >server that I've found already compiled over there with '-query localhost' >option). >I'm also running kdm as my display manager. > >The package compiles fine, but every time I start Xfbdev, I get random >colors.
