Is someone working on dual-head support for the ati driver?

I have a laptop with an ATI 3D Rage LT Pro and its annoying that I can use two desktops (with the internal and an external monitor) in Windows but not in Linux...

Last time I checked the ATI driver did not support dual-headed operation.

Go here:
http://www.matrox.com/mga/support/drivers/files/lnx_200.cfm

 1. download the g400 drivers & the powerdesk utility
 2. read the release notes
 3. install the drivers
 4. restart the X server
 5. install powerdesk
 6. run mgapdesk
 7. choose the dual-head multi-display option
 8. adjust your displays (refresh rate, resolutions, ...)
 9. save & exit
10. enjoy

The dual-head setup works perfectly except that 3D hardware acceleration
(DRI) is only supported in single-head mode :(
I attached my XF86Config files just in case...
Hope it helps.

hi,

i have a matrox MGA G400 AGP card with two monitor outputs. how can i
make xfree86 to switch with the mouse from screen1 to screen2? someone
have me the hint to use xf86cfg but that did not really help. i think
it would if i had two completely different graphic cards.

Section "Device"
        Identifier "Card0"
        Driver "mga"
        VendorName "Matrox"
        BoardName "MGA G400 AGP"
        BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
EndSection

has maybe someone the same card and made experiences with it?

emanuel
