There's no server showing with ps. locate finds /tmp/.X2-lock: /tmp /tmp/.X11-unix /tmp/.X11-unix/X2 /tmp/.X2-lock /tmp/locate.list.5096 but ll does not. total 5 drwxrwxrwx 2 root wheel 512 Jul 3 21:58 .ICE-unix drwxrwxrwt 2 root wheel 512 Jul 3 21:58 .X11-unix drwx------ 2 root wheel 512 Jul 2 14:07 kde-root drwx------ 2 root wheel 512 Jul 3 21:58 ksocket-root drwx------ 3 root wheel 512 Jul 3 21:58 mcop-root So I can't remove it? I've compiled another program to see if it occured but it compiled without a problem. So I tried openoffice again with the same result. Why? Perhaps it's openoffice. What tools can I use to get closer to examining this, if any. xpop and xwininfo don't help and I'm confused about my approach. Please point me in the right direction. > --- Peter Kozberski <pkoz@adam.com.au> wrote: > > I've been trying to compile openoffice on Netbsd > > 1.5.2 with X 3.3.6 on kde 2.2.2 > > and after another try got: > > > > Fatal server error: > > Server is already active for display 2 > > If this server is no longer running, remove > > /tmp/.X2-lock > > and start again. > > > > /bin/sh -c "cd > > > /usr/pkgsrc/misc/openoffice/work/oo_641_src/config_office/../instsetoo/*.pro/01/normal > ; > > TEMP=/usr/pkgsrc/misc/openoffice/work; export TEMP; > > DISPLAY=':2';export DISPLAY; > > ./setup -r:oo_setup.resp" > > *** Error code 1 (ignored) > > Installation was not successful. > > *** Error code 1 > > > > I've tried to remedy this but .X2-lock keeps > > reappearing. > > > > How do I remove the :2 display ie. stop the extra > > Xserver? > > > > -- Peter Kozberski > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > _______________________________________________ > > > > Newbie@XFree86.Org > > *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: > > http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie > > > __________________________________________________ > Do You Yahoo!? > Sign up for SBC Yahoo!
