I have the misfortune of being required to use IE which is on a W2K
machine. I connect to it via a Citrix ICA client from my RedHat box.
Apart from the hassles with dealing with Windoze, it works quite well
including clipboards in both directions. Whether it's possible to see
how they do it, I can't say, but have a look around citrix.com and you
might find something of use.
