I hadn't heard that XFree86 had support for any of the Oxygen series cards.
I know that there is commercial support from Xi Graphics
(http://www.xig.com/Pages/Atop/CardIndividualSupportSpec/3Dlabs-IndiviaualCards/VX1.html).

But I have no knowledge of the quality or any experience with their
drivers.

Subject: [Newbie]about 3Dlabs Oxygen VX1

Hi all:

I use RedHat 7.2 and my video card is 3Dlabs Oxygen VX1 (chipset:GLINT R3)
. I use Xconfigurator to set the video card. But faied to find the Oxygen
VX1 in the step "Select your card".

Today i download XFree86 4.2.0 ,and install it .then i can start X server.
but there are only XTerm and XClock on the screen . it doesnt start any
window manager such as GNOME,KDE,etc..  i use command switchdesk to switch
the desk to GNOME. the command return success information , but
GNOME still doesnt appear. i restart the X-server, and  the problem is
still there . :(

Thanks

Yu
