Just a quick note on my problem of getting two screens running at the one time using an S3 Virge card with an S3 Trio card with version 4.2.0 of XFree86. Picking up on a suggestion given last night (for a different problem) to change the driver from s3 to vesa for an S3 Trio card, I was able to get both screens working without freezing up my system. X now uses few resources, not the 98% of CPU that it was trying to do with the s3 driver!!
