I don't know much about FreeBSD, However I would add
DefaultDepth 16 # or 24 whichever you need
to the screen section, and in the corresponding subsection display
Modes "1024x768" # or any resolution you need
hope that will help (but may not suffice...) you may also want to download the nvidia driver from
their site..
