maybe the webserver has not enough rights to load the extension. try just giving everyone full access to this file, and then restart the webserver. if it still doesn't work, i was wrong.
Tried that. The java library has the same priviliges as the pdf library but still only the pdf one works.

another suggestion is, that php has not enough privileges to access java. maybe checking privileges there would help...
