Warcraft 3 frame-rate limiter

Hello,
I have noticed a strange behavior with wine and W3:

If I run the game natively in windows using the DirectX rendering engine and the OpenGL one the frame-rate hovers around 60 fps in both. You can see the FPS by typing /fps as a message while in game.

If I run the game under wine, using DirectX as the rendering engine the frame limiter works and I get around 60 fps. When I run the game using opengl the FPS goes up to 170fps, it does drop down as the game progresses and more and more units are in, but it is always above 60.

Another problem that I have seen with wine and full screen applications on KDE is that after ALT+TAB-ing the main panel will stay on top of the application when switching back to it. There used to be a work-around for this problem by pressing ALT+F3 to open the window menu and manually set it to full screen, but now since the way the mouse catching was changed this no longer works.

I am using the latest development release of wine on a Fedora 15 x64 system with the latest KDE.

Thank you.
