What graphics card (or chip) do you have? You may be able to use the command glxinfo | grep str and/or lspci | grep -i vga to find out if you don't know. Also, http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=9194 has a few suggestions (if you can find the wheat in the chaff) that may or may not help.
