I looked at the app briefly, and noticed warnings during the install; try doing winetricks -q wsh57 mfc42 jet40 before installing it into a clean .wine directory. That gets rid of the warnings, but since I don't have a registration code, I can't try running it. It's possible that winetricks comctl32 might help the black areas, just guessing.
