Well, John answered you pretty darn well, but just to bring out the 400 grit sandpaper, there is no "main" interface because the idea is that it be slipstreamed with the host operating system; the focus is whatever program you are running. They want you to be able to just run a Windows program no different than running a native program. If you first had to open a WINE console, and then launch a Windows program out of that, that would ruin the slipstreamedness.
