You could use wine for your camera, but Linux distros nowadays easily support most cameras, such as Canon, Nikon etc. I don't think you need to use Wine for this. I use Ubuntu 10.04 myself and it supports Canon Powershot S50, I never had to use the disc that came with the camera.. thanks n
