Because WINE needs to be able to work on a multitude of different operating systems, it would be really very impractical to try to chase a moving target like optical drives. Even just on GNU+Linux, optical drives are handled in multiple ways. There isn't much benefit in putting together something that works the way you would have expected with your current udev settings when 1) someone else would complain that that implementation doesn't work on their brand X and 2) what you want is totally doable by a user who is minding their udev rules. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iQEcBAEBAgAGBQJNh9I/AAoJEHblvm1J+WqMvJoH/iwGBBVsOFGu8gK9xiKHUS/k /tHPqpA1A7u8TLPpHe3zN+BxlmPMRsdBfF6Hm8r2Lcc+7f/Aj3bxJqLJOZSKdTUL ffmb/mfEgajC3x6YzRalbUnW12VuxdnJTs11POlS1vxZkR/6g7Gzs4EAVR+LhXJi GiEcYP1vv4ldC/sueGrVEubMF7Y7kQgW8/WdkjZkW3J7kVCrZM0bJvgPdCQ3Swjb NlDd1sqRF4ihyl9H7vdn3qDUgOinVfPjerbs6LIEt8pIi8k7QxaT++czPQIingyO XwrHWTj3OLW7K4u+oQ/yvWJMcnwxkFa/bHoCmfS1DUqnvVtd92cXhvFE8tLtJJI= =GdNJ -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
