In the bug report from above someone had a similar problem with OpenBox as Windowmanager, and was able to work around it (see last comment in bug report). You may try to play with some config options regarding minimizing windows, icons etc. I'm not sure about that NX-Client stuff. Did you try, if mirc works flawlessly without that remote stuff? If not, you may file a bug report.
