Yes. The best way is to try out, but generally I found that more old software works in Wine than it does in actual Windows. Since you mention DLLs, you're probably talking about Windows 9x or 2000/Me, which are supported just fine.

Note that if you have a 64-bit processor, 16-bit software may not always work (depending on your processor). Though they do for me, mostly.
