you can set up overrides easy in winecfg on the Library tab http://wiki.winehq.org/winecfg if you use Winetricks (http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks) to install most of this stuff, it will do the install and set the overrides correctly for you. overriding is basically overriding a Wine version of doing something with a MS version. Like... overriding a Wine DirectX dll file with one from Microsoft's direct x version.
