In simple terms... Wine has its own version of DirectX already built in. Microsoft DirectX does not need to be installed... now like Dan says, there are some cases where Wine's version is not yet complete so you may need to add some things from MS's version, but do not add anything unless you've already seen it fail without what you want to add.
