Wine doesn't open the installer

I'm trying to follow this tutorial to install itunes with WINE (for starters)

I downloaded itunessetup.exe from the apple site and put it in the home folder 
I rightclick/run with WINE and it opens a tab/program/rectangle at the bottom (panel, I think it's called) that is titled "wine windows program loader" when I click on it, nothing happens and it stays minimized.  after  a few moments, it goes away and i'm back to square one.
