GTA San Andreas: Problems with Sound

Well, I installed GTA San Andreas with Wine(Version 1.3.10) under Ubuntu 10.10 yesterday. To get it run, I checked "Emulate Virtual Desktop" and "Allow Window Manager to manage the Windows" (or something like that) in under "Configure Wine". It worked well, even the cutscenes, the dialogs and the radio worked. For some reason it even runs faster under WINE than under Windows XP.
But I got one problem: There were no sounds of other cars, or hit sounds of other cars, the civilists are quiet, too. I just hear what I say something, when I get hitted and when I shoot.

Could it be that this is a problem with EAX (which is used for the ambient sounds, like car crashes etc in GTA SA)? And how can I fix it?

And I've got one more question: How can I run a game in fullscreen by using the emulated virtual desktop? It is really annoying that I have to change the Resolution to 800x600 , just for running GTA San Andreas in fullscreen mode.
