Uhmmm. Don't like to lower your hopes... But BF2 was released in 2005 and is still not well supported. You have to be very patient with Wine progress as most of the Windows software developers don't give a monkeys about it... (E.g. the stupid PunkBuster system that Battlefield games use.)
PunkBuster uses something close to what GameGuard uses and neither will
EVER be supported in Wine (at least a legal copy of it.)
It's up to the end user to contribute to Wine... so keep filing them bugs 8)
That is true. However, some bugs will never be fixed (WONTFIX).
