Nvidia claims that there should be no difference in performance regarding there drivers for different OS. I compared memory and CPU usage (when playing Wow as before in OpenGL) and found that memory usage was were much the same between xp and Ubuntu but CPU usage was much higher in Ubuntu/Wine than in XP. (75 -90 % in Ubuntu with peeks to 100%, but only 55% in XP). Can this be the reason way fps is so low on Ubuntu/Wine compared to WindowsXP? Is there a way to get around this? Besides the poor fps I have no problems what so ever playing Wow in Ubuntu/Wine.
