You say you placed d3d9.dll.so there, but you need to use the patched version of d3d9.dll specific for wine 1.3.5. (see http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24831 ) There is a downloadable version of d3dx9 there, but that one is for Wine stable ( 1.2). Alex.
